In my life this week…
We are officially back to homeschooling! The kids are loving it so far but I am already one day behind even though I only planned a four day week! As usual, life circumstances got in the way.
Granola Girl had an appointment with the surgeon as they thought they were going to have to put pins in her broken arm but the arm is already beginning to heal properly and there will be no surgery required! So thankful!
Miss Optimism’s lungs are having a very hard time. I am unbelievably grateful for the three nights a week with the night nurse because I would not be coping well without those sleeps. Continued prayers for her healing are appreciated.
In our homeschool this week…
We did a birthday party theme just for fun with all kinds of fun activities.
In Story of the World, we were studying history in China and so we had a dinner of Chinese food and the kids attempted to learn how to eat with chopsticks.
We talked about Haikus and composed our own. Not surprisingly, they were about lizards and hamsters!
Our quote this week: “Prayer in action is love. Love in action is service.” – Mother Teresa and our memory verse: “Seek ye the Lord while He may be found.” – Isaiah 55:6
We began our Human Body unit with some easy worksheets and discussions. The kids continued their Math U See, journals, devotions, copywork, and handwriting.
We never finished up the alphabet last year, so we were on the letter “S” this week and talked about all the letter blends (there are many) and there were several S themed activities in their workboxes.
