In our homeschool this week… Snuggle Puppy made some huge strides in his quest towards reading!
We made a lot of Christmas crafts and ornaments. We started doing chalk pastels in art (more about that in a few days). We made a Christmas Sticky Tree to decorate our homeschool classroom.
The kids read The Musical Life of Gustav Mole (again), listened to the CD and then wanted to hear more Beethoven music. Anything that makes the kids ask for classical music is pretty great in my eyes!
We did the usual math and reading activities.
Places we’re going and people we’re seeing… Snuggle Puppy has started taking Jui Jitsu. He is very competitive by nature and we were looking for a positive outlet for his aggression so I hope this will be a good fit. He has been to three classes so far and really likes it and seems well suited for it.
Monday, the kids went to the Rec. Centre and played, went swimming and went skating. They love skating and miss having a rink in the yard.
Tuesday morning, the kids had piano lessons and in the evening, had their Boys and Girls Club.
Wednesday was swimming lessons and we had our friends over for Thai food (put to use those cooking classes The Husband took in Thailand) in the evening.
Thursday I had the last group parent session for this semester of Dancing Queen’s treatment program for attachment and trauma. There will be another session for The Husband and I to attend together in two weeks and then a break until January and I am relieved that it is coming to a close.
Thursday, we had a joint birthday party for Dancing Queen and Granola Girl at the bowling alley. And today (Saturday), The Husband has taken them skiing so that I can have a bit of a much needed break!
